Earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand: Your donation helps!

On 28 of March 2025, a powerful earthquake with magnitude 7.7 has struck Myanmar. The quake occurred at 12:50 p.m. local time near the city of Sagaing in central Myanmar. Tremors were also felt in Thailand, more than 1,000 kilometers away. The main shock was followed by multiple aftershocks, including one measuring 6.4. Initial reports indicate widespread destruction in several cities across Myanmar, with residential and office buildings, bridges, and historic landmarks partially or completely destroyed. Myanmar's military junta has confirmed that the death toll has surpassed 1,000, with over 2,370 people injured and several still missing. Fatalities have also been reported in Thailand. Experts fear that the actual number of casualties in both countries may be significantly higher.

Our teams works with local partner organizations to launch an acute emergency relief effort. We will initially provide the most severely affected with food, clothing, hygiene products, tarpaulins, buckets, blankets, and soap.

We are providing 250,000 euros immediately to support the people affected by the earthquake. However, this is just the beginning, because countless people have lost all their belongings, their homes, and loved ones today. They are in urgent need of further donations.
